Simple Recipes For Your New Year Resolution

With every New Year comes a clean slate and a chance for a fresh start. Time to create a list of goals and resolutions to make improvements. Break old habits and have a happier, healthier you.

Want to wake up feeling fantastic every day? Small changes in your diet can make a big difference. Try incorporating these recipes in your daily routine and tell us how you feel. The most important thing is, don’t lose the enthusiasm in just a few days, stick to it, it takes 21 days on average to form a new habit!

Morning Boost

Leafy green vegetables and fruits are packed with vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals, as well as being a great source of fibre. Together with Olive Leaf Extract which provides at least 12 powerful plant polyphenols, these smoothie gives you a nutritious boost in the morning, help you feel energised, #FeelFantastic before you head out the door.

Tropical Smoothie

Ingredients

2 cups of fresh spinach

2 cups of water

1 cup of pineapple

1 cup of mango

2 bananas

1 teaspoon of Olive Leaf Extract

Methods

Add all the ingredients and blend in an electric blender until smooth. Pour into glass and drink throughout the day.

 

Energy plus Green Smoothie

Half an avocado, banana and UMF5+ Manuka honey, this could prepare you for a full on day.

Ingredients

1/2 cup of baby spinach

1 kiwi fruit

1/2 of an avocado

1 banana

1 1/2 cups of almond milk

1 teaspoon of UMF® 5+ Manuka Honey

15ml of Olive Leaf Extract

Methods

Add all the ingredients and blend in an electric blender until smooth. Pour into glass and drink throughout the day.

Afternoon

Cooling Olive, Lemon and Mint Drink

Instead of lying down to rest after work, why don’t hit the gym and sweat the stress out! It helps to keep you both physically and mentally healthy. Did you know an hour of exercise can lead to up to 0.8 to 1.4 liters of water lost through sweat, depending on the type and intensity of your workout and how hot you are while exercising. Your fluid should be replaced to avoid dehydration. Try this Hydrating Drink created by Naturopath, Herbalist and Organic Food, Health and Lifestyle educator, Anthia Koullouros.

Ingredients to make 1 Litre Jug:

15ml of Olive Leaf Extract

750ml of water

250ml of a fresh or dried peppermint herbal tea, cooled

1 teaspoon of fresh thyme leaves

1 sliced lemon

Lemon zest

¼ teaspoon of turmeric root powder

1 bunch of fresh mint leaves

Method:

1.  Add all the ingredients to a 1 litre jug followed by the water and tea.

2.  Stir and chill.

Evening

Olive has been traditionally used to support a healthy immune system and is gaining widespread reputation for its year-round benefits. Now conveniently available as extract, you may add the natural goodness into any hot or cold drinks.

Soothing Tea Recipe

Created by Naturopath, Herbalist and Organic Food, Health and Lifestyle educator, Anthia Koullouros, this Soothing Tea is perfect to have in the colder months.

Ingredients (1 cup):

5ml of Olive Leaf Extract

1 teaspoon of UMF Manuka honey

1 squeeze of lemon juice

1 teaspoon of fresh thyme leaves

1⁄2 teaspoon of grated fresh ginger root

¼ teaspoon of turmeric root powder

Method:

1.  Add the dried and fresh ingredients to a teapot with freshly boiled water.

2.  Brew for 5 minutes.

3.  Pour tea through the strainer.

4.  Stir in the Olive Leaf Extract.

5.  Drink warm.

 

Olive Ginger Tea

If you like the taste of warm ginger and a spicy kick, try this warming Olive Ginger Tea.

Ingredients:

1/2 of fresh lemon juice

1/2 of a Turmeric

Dash of cayenne pepper

Dash of cinnamon

1 inch of ginger peeled and crushed

1 teaspoon of UMF Manuka honey

15ml of Olive Leaf Extract

Method:

1.  Add all ingredients into a teapot.

2.  Pour hot water into the teapot and stir for 1 minute.

3.  Pour into cup and drink.
